Autumn / Winter 2009

This is by far and away my most energetic collection and makes me remember fondly how exciting the early years of running a fashion label are.

There was little concern for expense, time to make, cost of materials or commercial appeal. Instead it was about being a young designer and exploring.

This was my second runway show at NZFW and was an overwhelming success. We had write ups all over the world as a result and a subsequent invitation to show at New York Fashion Week.

Lamb's leather was the hero of the runway, with the hand-cut petal jackets fluttering as models walked.

The tailoring was about defying gravity with volume, cloth and application. It was a huge technical undertaking and extremely rewarding.
