This collection was inspired by a book called A Gentleman's Wardrobe. This book studies the traditional elements of a by-gone British male wardrobe, where dressing for occasions and times of the day where the norm.
Taking from theses codes of dressing, the collection explores elements of shirting, double windsor knots and bow-ties, tail coats and outdoor jackets in a contemporary context.
I developed the drape/ folding/ abstract knot work on a mannequin and much of the initial sewing was done by hand.
This is one of my favourite palettes used over the years, giving a feeling of crispness and newness which was so right for the time.
